My response would be that for him not to have heard of the issue shows a remarkable lack of awareness seeing as it has been well publicised. Even so, a small amount of research on his part (or whichever member of his family is in his pay) would allow him to make an informed opinion rather than merely not supporting an EDM on the basis of ignorance. I might also add that the letter was being copied to the local press, selected national press and media, the party leader, the party chairman, and also the leaders and chairmen of the other two major parties.
