I have been running KAV for about six months now, and have found it excellent.

More worrying is that Norton had not found a dozen or so infected files that had been on my machine for at least a year!

I have recently installed it on a friends new Dell machine that had become seriously infected. The bundled McAfee anto virus was little better than useless IMHO, and had been disabled by a virus, hence allowing yet more infections. KAV found a total of 243 infected files and adware programmes that McAfee had let through.

From the reviews that I have read, KAV is reckoned to be about the best there is, whilst McAfee is rated even worse than Norton. And guess which AV packages are sold by PC World and Co?
