KAV is rated as among the best available, I've been using Kaspersky Internet Security since ditching Norton, overall the software is excellent, updates are very frequent and not just one a day etc, & detection rates have left my version of Norton Internet Security trailing, on the downside; KIS is more user orientated than Norton, in that pop ups frequently occur asking if you want to block or permit access to certain programmes, I find it also requires a fairly beefy pc. The other benefit to Kaspersky is that as well as frequent updates, you also get "free" programme upgrades, i.e I bought version 6, free upgraded to version 7 & will be getting the new version in July, I don't know if Norton & McAfee give subscribers free upgrades. I did use AVG beforehand, which is a good programme however KIS installation insisted that it be removed (compatability issue). Superantispyware is a programme suggested to me by Kaspersky's customer support, i downloaded the free version, there's also a link in Superanti's software that carries out a process check, looking at what's going on in your system (what programmes are running & if friend or foe). |
