	I think it could be either the motherboard or PSU switching circuits. Have had something similar which was the PSU so it might be worth trying another one. As I understand it (and I could well be wrong-again!) the switch on the case activates the power circuit on the MB which tells the PSU to fire up, turn off or hibernate.
