Recently I was thinking about how I take, use and show digital photographs, particularly those that record an event or people (eg weddings, holidays etc). In the olden days I would take a film, get it D&Ped and then hand the packet around to friends and family. These days I often take more photos but they end up on my PC and not that many people see them. I will usually make them available via a website but not everyone can or does take a look. Besides, I like the instant feedback of people's faces and reactions when they look at your pictures. So, I was thinking, is there a digital equivalent to the packet of enprints? I was thinking of an electronic device into which I can insert a card (SD, CF etc) which would have a screen around 7"×5" that the user could use to view pictures on the card (so no need for internal memory). I know there are digital photo frames, but these aren't really designed for hand-holding and passing around. I also don't want or need the additional functionality of a multi-media device like an Archos. Does such a thing exist? A reasonably extensive Google search didn't turn anything up. |
