Hi, Just picked up a Minolta Weathermatic 35DL cheap and after cleaning up the battery terminals cos of a battery leak all seems to me working fine but I cant find any info on the net i.e.what is the focal lengths of the lens? max aperture? closest focus? water proof to how many metres? how does the underwater close up button work at the back? anyone know where I can find out or who has the specifications/instructions? Any help appreciated Cheers Dave

Focal lengths of 35mm f3.5 and 50mm f5.6, closest focus 1.7 feet, waterproof to 5m, AF above water, fixed focus below - you can get the manual from Oldtimer cameras, but I don't know of a free download one.

Nick,
The usual place for free info, is, the land of freedom of information, try http://kmpi.konicaminolta.us/ where you can get any Minolta manual online for free

Sadly, no, Dave. I've got a friend who had one quite a few years back (for all I know, she might still have it) - I've emailed her, she might remember - she got it to replace a 110 version that my wife and I wrecked with a bottle of water, believe it or not. Silly pointless story No. 43.

Hi Dave,
The camera when sold new came with a "framer", for lack of a better term, that attached to the top of the camera and when you pushed the "close-up" button you were to look through the attached finder and, allegedly, what you saw through the finder is what you shot.
Hope this helps somewhat but -- dont' take it for gospel .

How old is the camera and more importantly are the water seals still intact and effective? I'd be inclined to check these out, especially on a camera that's been neglected enough to suffer a battery leak.......

Hi, Ive no idea of the age but i think it was produced from 85 to around 95 (but not sure)The camera looks to be in hardly used condition and came in the soft case with the sportsfinder and film container I think it was just left with the batteries in for some time but I was considering an underwater test of some sort (in the bath?) to see what sort of results it gave. Thanks for all the help, Dave

Nick,
You have to look under Vectis Weathermatic Dual 35 to find what is needed remember this is an american site so names/titles of cameras will be different but the manual is there and can be downloaded

I did, but then a window appeared which said it was an APS compact, so I assumed that there really was a Vectis version - however, both the name and the window are wrong, and this is the correct manual.
