Tutorial for FZ7
      #459563 - 30/03/2007 19:08

I've recently upgraded from my point and shoot digital to the FZ7, and although it has lots of features and the instruction manual advises how to set it up, it doesn't say what each function does. On reflection I should probably have done a bit more research before buying it, but I didn't and now I just don't know where to start. I just want to be able to take nice, clear pictures, sometimes of moving toddlers, and holiday photos. Is there a tutorial anywhere specifically designed for this model that might help me out?

Hi and welcome

AFAIK (as far as I know) there are no specific tutorials for the FZ7 however, once you learn the basics of digital photography, using the FZ7 will be a breeze.

Simple language guide to digital photography

Good luck!

I just bought oner and its dead easy to use. It has all the usual P A S M modes of an SLR, plus Macro Simple mode and Movie.
It also has one marked SCN which has loads of preset settings for quick use like Food, Candlelight and Starry Sky which opens the shutter from 15-60 seconds.

I use it mainly in P mode and shoot away.
If you press the SET buton on the back you can select White Balance, Exposure compensation,Autobracketing, Flash compensation, ISO and Sensitivity etc.
There are also settings for colour effects including B/W mode,Sepia, Cool and Warm.
You can select the focus method too, including spot focusing(can also select spot metering, fabulous!)
It is a fantastic little camera!

If theres anything specific youre stuck on give me a shout and I'll do what I can to help.

Thanks for your all the advice, I'm busy working my way through the simple guide to digital photography and feel much happier about things now.
