Seeing as though Sony use the exact same mount as Minolta did, I take it that this lens will work as normal on the Dynax7d.
Note to Mods, if this should be in the Sony section then please feel free to move

I thought so, but just wanted to check. 
I have decided that I will get one and possibly the 300 f2.8 if the national lottery decide to take up my game show idea and pay me.

As Rog has stated yes the SSM lenses will work on your 7D, the Sony units are just re-badged Konica Minolta GD SSM units, so will work with all the last Dynax (film and digital) SLRs with the exception of the Dynax 9, however you can have these adjusted to use the ADI & SSM technologies

I was thinking about getting the Sigma 50-500 EX (selling on my Sigma 28-300 and 400)to add to my current EX glass, but then thought, what the heck, if the national lottery pay me for my gameshow idea, then why not splash out on some serious glassware.

And why not, if my lotto ticket comes up, then some lucky Sony dealer will find me ordering '0ne of each please including the TC's' (except the STF, already got one) Oh and could you throw in an Alpha 700 & 350 (Well one can dream!)
