I've recently purchased these to go with my Fuji s9000, and thought great, a decent looking macro kit for my camera since I have a fixed lens. It came in the post today so I immediately grabbed my camera to test things out. First thing I went for was the 'macro' extension, which at first seemed it wouldn't autofocus, so tested some others and they worked. The magnification doesn't seem to work that well. I was aware I'd probably still need to be close to my subject, which was the case, but they don't seem to be that much cop.
Has anyone experience with these? Is there something I'm missing here? I'm currently using the +2 extension to take a few shots of flowers around the area, but worried that when I go out taking pics of damselflies it's just not going to work :{ Camera lens for those who aren't familiar with this cam is 28-300mm Test shots: x2 extension

Just testing out the +4 extension, there's a bit of a difference taking shots without it, I like them: 4 test shots: http://flickr.com/photos/inyunyyn/2636272578/

I've no idea about the close up filters but would've though stick them on, set the camera to min focus distance, AF off and then move back and forth to find focus?
One of my Flickr contacts uses a close up filter on his Fuji and gets nice and close (I think it's a Raynox filter)....has some mad homemade flash contraption on his too See here.

Cheers Andrew, I've left the guy a message now, and been sussing out some Raynox equipment, most which seem to be about £150. I'll look out for a second hand one if they're that price though as I'll be getting a 450D in the coming months

Don't think I've seen Shane about for a couple of weeks....he may be on holiday or something.
Have you had a look in the Raynox DCR250 group on Flickr? Lots of nice stuff in there
Hadn't looked at the price of those filters before.... £60
