Can anyone let me know if the chinon bayonet fixing will fit any on the digital cameras of today been after a canon so thought they might fit something it was my dads camera but i prefer the digital age so i can see it as soon as it is shot any help appreciated

Chinon's bayonet-mount cameras used the Pentax K bayonet, the descendant of which is still used on the Pentaxes (and Samsungs) of today, and compatability is pretty good (although if they're AF Chinons, that might possibly be a problems). That said, it's almost certainly a false economy to buy a camera purely to use any old lenses you might have, as Chinon lenses weren't among the very best, and digital imposes very different requirements. It's far better to see which camera suits you best, and if it happens to take those lenses, it's a slight bonus, if not, don't consider that you've lost anything.

Thanks for the reply Nick and i see what you mean it's just that lenzs are so expensive my wife would have a heart attack if i started paying those prices when i only have a small budget it's a bit awkward still i'll have a go at thinking what i want it to do
