well I have finished the diploma. I am pleased to say I passed with 88% "commended"
So to all of my fellow students, keep on with your course as the end does come, at times I didn't think I would finish.
Scott's been my tutor and I'd like to thank him for the support and feedback he gave me.
I have just got to keep shooting now and hopefully remember all I have learnt on the diploma.
So to you all enjoy the rest of your diploma and I hope you all succeed with a pass. my pics are here if you want to look at them all.
Regards Adrian

Matt, jennief & Paul, Thank you.
Paul, im not sure really. I had thought about the image techniques but I am not sure.
I may just enjoy taking photo's for the moment and see what happens.

Will do.
A Question to the tutors then, is there any mileage in me signing up to the Foundation in Digital Imaging Techniques?
I usually shoot raw and have a fairly good understanding of white balance, and used to do colour correction/retouching in a previous job (litho printers) albeit scanning film mainly.
Is there anyone else doing this course?
I would like to know more about photoshop though and some of the sharpening and image correction and layers etc etc.
Would this course help me??

The Foundation in Digital Imaging Techniques covers the basic of digital imaging editing, hence it being a foundation course.
You might be better suited to the Diploma In Digital Imaging Techniques course we are hoping to introduce later in the year if you are already fully conversant with the subjects mentioned here.
However the current Diploma in Digital Photography covers sharpening and image correction - using Levels and Curves.
If you are more interested in creative techniques, montage, creative monochrome and advanced selection techniques then look out for the new course towards the end of the year.

This seems to be what I am looking for, will/could it also involve blending layers/HDR type subjects as this is what what I am looking for, I already use curves & levels now.

Yes by and large I am pleased.
I think the course is excellent albeit sometimes a lonely one.
By that I mean on a few occasions I could have done with some extra help but I am partly to blame in not using this forum as much as I should have. I guess that is the way with distance learning.
My photography has improved a great deal as has my confidence with a camera, so much so that I have made a partial return to shooting film, just need a decent scanner now.

Hello Garry,
I'm sorry to ask this here, but unfortunately I can't seem to start new topics in this forum!
I just received your feedback about my still-life module (it's Claire) and due to my own lack of planning I now only have until the end of April to complete my final project. If I manage to get everything submitted about a week before my 3 years is up, would it still be accepted?!
Thanks,
Claire.

I should think so - Elliot is the person to add to your deadlines and I do whatever Elliot decides - he's intrinsically nice so I have strong hopes for you.

Hello again Garry,
Thought I'd better let you know that I did send Elliot a message about the deadline, but received no reply, so I assumed that my request wouldn't be acceptable. As I am not going to be able to complete the final assessment, I just wanted to say thanks for all of your comments and support and I'm really glad that I did the course!
(Sorry to everyone reading for hijacking the thread!)
Claire.

Hello,
Thanks to both of you for the replies. I think I've left it too late to e-mail since it's now 2 weeks past my 3 year deadline!
