Stitching AVI files together
      #667411 - 16/06/2008 22:16

Can any one help me by advising what they think is the best software for `stitching` AVI video files into one for converting and burning onto dvd?

I have windows movie maker but after placing a dozen or so files into sequence it crashes on me.

My wife has around 60 short videos from a vehicle rally thats he wants to put together.

I have a ~2 year old Win XP Home PC (SP2) with around 1GB RAM and I use Coral (was Ulead) VideoStudio 11.5+. And it's stable. I assume you've got DMA sorted etc. as per standard instructions for dealing with video? VS 11.5+ is good at dealing with the HDD file system in use, and in my case, it automatically copes with the huge upload files splitting them into chunks that the file system can deal with. (4GB?)
It also has no problem adding or moving video chunks around, splitting videos, titling etc.

After editing etc., it includes software for making the Menus, sub-menus etc. for DVDs with a variety of effects. Took me some time to find all the customisation it allows.

I got my copy off the net for around £40 or less a few months ago.

I have never had that problem, with either XP or Vista.
