Just a quick question on sensor design. If our eyes are more sensitive to green, as indicated in the manual why do we need more green sites than red or blue? With film the more sensitive it is to light the less it needs for an image. I must be missing something here but I can't see it.

No, not at all. As, to my mind if you are more sensitive to something you need less of it to give the same effect. So if our eyes are more sensitive to green then logicaly woulden't we need less of green than red or blue I'm lost on this one so hopfully some one can put me on the right track.

I may be totally wrong here, but I was having a think about this, and I figure that if our eyes are more sensitive to green, then by having twice as many green sites on the sensor, we are making the sensor more sensitive to green as well, so it records an image in the same way as our eyes see it. So, if in an image, we see lots of green. 'cos our eyes are programmed that way, therefore, so does the sensor, so that it matches the visual (seen) image. Does that make sense, or am I rambling incoherently?
Do you suppose we evolved this way to spot mould on our cheese?

Tal's answer is how I understand it but apart from a technical interest it doesn't have a great deal on bearing on the course, so I wouldn't worry if it still doesn't make sense.
When I was studying photography we had to study conjucti foci - lens design and not once in my career has it been of any use whatsoever. There are some very clever people who sort that one out for me very nicely!

Thanks both of you for your replys. It was just for my understanding really, not for the course as such. Your answers makes sense. Thanks again.
