Velvia 100 120 Anywhere ?
      #274050 - 19/11/2005 19:19

My local fuji shop ordered some for me early september or so.... Never received it. I also have some on order at 7daysshop for a few weeks and it's also on hold...
So is there a place one can get it (at a reasonable price!) ?

X weeks later, the film is still unavailable. Anyone at all is shooting that new Velvia 100 ?

I ordered 10 35mm rolls back in August I think it was, from 7dayshop. They arrived in a few days. But as to 120 format I'm still using Velvia 50 for now.

Yep, I shot a couple of rolls in Cuba at the beginning of November. Can't really say too much about it, though, because my metering was a bit off on quite a few of the shots. I've got another 8 rolls in the fridge that I'll get round to using once my camera's back from having the jammed lens & 2x converter removed.

(Yes, it was the 'usual' Hasselblad jam, but I think something must have gone in the lens because I couldn't get it to stay cocked when rotating the little screw head in the body. And yes, it happened half-way through the trip. And no, I didn't have a back-up camera as I wanted to concentrate on 6x6 and not get distracted by snapping away with my Canon G3. If I'd thought about it, I'd have taken my Minolta Autocord TLR, but I don't think there would have been room for it in the bag anyway. Luckily, I was able to borrow an EOS 1 and 28-70 f/2.8 L lens, so I did get some shots on the rest of the trip. My partner was shooting a mixture of digial & 35mm, so we had plenty of film.)

Try Mathers of Lancashire ( www.mathersoflancashire.co.uk ). They are currently advertising stock of Velvia 100 and the new Velvia 50.

I have used them many times over the last twenty years or so and found their service to be excellent. I have also visited their shop on occasions, and can vouch for the fact that film stock is kept refrigerated.

Another company I have used and would recommend is Discount Films Direct ( www.discountfilmsdirect.co.uk ), who are also showing current stock of both Velvia 50 and 100.

Oh, and Morco in Mansfield ( www.morco.uk.com ) is also worth trying. Morco always keep a good stock of pro film, and it is all refrigerated.
