Hi all,
To my shock, my mother just pulled out an old Ilford Sportoman 35mm camera from the cupboard. It looks so different to anything else I have handled, and I can't wait to have a go. For those who are not familiar, it is a fully manual camera, with an f/2.2 fixed lens (adjustable in full stops to f/22, and manual shutter with options of B, 30, 60, 125 and 250. No light-meter or auto-focus, as you may have guessed.
Anyhow, I can't wait to get out and have a go with it. I was wondering, for someone who doesn't have a dark room, or any experience with film B&W, what film would you recommend using. I don't mind mail-order, high-street, whatever, but bear in mind I live in Cardiff, and I don't know of any pro-developer, although there must be somewhere.
Thanks for any help,

Why don't you just try a colour print film to get used to the camera. Cheapest option and can be processed anywhere. Wide exposure latitude so plenty of room for error. If you do want B and W Ilford XP2 may be a good choice - uses C41 chemistry so is processed like a colour film at any minilab.
