Need wide angle camera and have 150 to Spend for photographing rooms and houses, would love a DSLR but think maybe out of budget, can anyone give me suggestions please. I understand the CCD sensor plays an important roll in this but getting so confused while looking, have found so far the only thing i can come up with is the Fuji FinePix S3200 which offers 24mm, i know you can add a fisheye but they are never very good and i dont want to spen to much.

Any help appreciated. Happy for second hand.

Hi yes i have , but looking at crop factors and these seem to be the best for my bank:-Crop factor 1.5 - 1.7 (APS-C)

Canon D30, D60, 300D, 350D, 400D, 450D, 500D, 550D, 600D, 650D, 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 60D, 1000D, 1100D, 7D.
Fuji S1 Pro, S2 Pro, S3 Pro, S5 Pro.

Pentax *istD, *istDS, *istDL, *istDS2, *istDL2, K110D, K10D, K100D, K100D Super, K200D, K20D, K2000, K-7. K-x, K-r, K-5, K-01, K-30.
Samsung GX-1S, GX-1L, GX-10, GX-20, NX10, NX5.
Sigma SD9, SD10, SD14, SD15, SD1.
Sony Alpha DSLR A100, A200, A230, A290, A300, A330, A350, A380, A390, A450, A500, A550, A560, A580, A700, SLT-A33, SLT-A35, SLT-A37, SLT-A55, SLT-A57, SLT-A65, SLT-A77.
With the crop factor an 18mm would be about 24mm so not bad and can enjoy all the other features.

thanks

to get a good wide angle you would need a 10-20 look at a sigma

Hi
I can't see any compacts wider than 24mm either, you might struggle to get a DSLR and wide angle for your budget

Not entirely sure what relevance the sensor has to your quest. Just make sure you compare all alternatives in 35mm [full frame] equivalent rather than trying to figure out irrelevant minutiae. Most cameras of whatever type come with zooms that start at 28mm equivalent with a few at 24mm. These are already 'wide angle' but I take it that this is not wide enough for you.

The Fujifilm S4500 super zoom plus a set of high capacity rechargeable AA batteries will come within budget.
While this is not as wide angle as you might desire, it does have a very simple automatic panorama setting that stitches three shots together as you sweep across the room or vista. On top of which it is a fair camera and has a great zoom range. It should cover all angles for you.

The 4800 is a newer improved model available for the same price I think. Make very sure you get high capacity rechargeable batteries and an SD card for this camera. Alkaline standard AA batteries won't last long and are costly compared to spending 20 on a set of high performance rechargeables and a charger.

The Panorama is a really good call
