Hi,

I'm thinking about adding a screw in polarizing filter to my camera bag, after reading many reviews I have short listed the Hoya Pro 1 and the Marumi DHG Super. My budget is 65 and this is the cost of the Marumi, the Hoya sells for 58.
Can anyone give me any advice, they will be attached to a Sigma 17 - 50mm lens that's already got a Hoya Pro 1 lens protection filter fitted.

Kind Regards
Gary

Thanks Wave, do you have any problems cleaning your Hoya? If I stack the Hoya Polarizer on top of the Hoya Protection filter would I encounter any problems other than vignetting? mentioned by Graham in another post.

Thanks Wave, well in for a penny in for a pound, I've just ordered the Hoya Pro 1 from Amazon (Camera King) for 55. I think that's a good deal Tim so it might suit you as well.

Thanks for the advice, sounds good. This is the first time I've bought a filter, so just to check...

With my lens (the 35mm Nikon mentioned above), do I need a 52mm filter? Is that the measurement of the diameter across the lens?

If so, there is this one on Amazon: Hoya 52mm Pro-1 Digital Circular Polarizing Filter for 33.41

Thanks for your help

My Sigma required the 77mm size, that's why there's a difference in price.

Hi Tim,

Just checked and a 52mm filter size is the right one for your lens. Checked on Amazon as well and the Hoya Pro 1 you picked is a good buy at 33.
