Hi, I am new - hello everyone.

I have a simple request - we have a Sony Alpha 230 entry level DSLR which we love and i was about to buy a video camera to film my kids but someone said you can now get DSLRs that shoot HD video. Can anyone tell me the best value/quality model? I will sell the Sony to fund this so i am free to change manufacturer.

Thanks

Al

Hi, in case anyone was going to answer, i found my answer by searching the forum. "DSLR" and "VIDEO" were too common words but by searching "1080p", i found some similar questions and i can see the Nikon D3100 is the one to buy. Thanks for the useful forum.

You might want to look at the d3200 and the canon 600d and 650d

Thanks for that but they are beyond my budget. Cheers

Hi
The Nikon d3200 has just been launched ,you can pick up the older d3100 for a good price... Graham
