Hi Guys,

I'm looking to buy a new camera (New baby due in a few months) so want something which will take good quality photos both in doors and outside. Also I want something which can take good quality video.
I'm no pro with a camera but interested in learning. I'm after a compact camera which will be easier to carry about on day trips etc.

I am looking at new Fujifilm F770EXR (http://www.fujifilm.eu/uk/products/digital-cameras/advanced-compact/model/finepix-f770exr/) which is due out in the next couple of days. Does this look like the right sort of camera for what I want.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Duffy. The F770EXR is a highly accomplished camera and will satisfy all your needs, you can read all the spec by looking at the site of WEX PHOTOGRAPHIC and search for the details which is what I've just done. I'm very impressed by the spec and it promises to be a very much in demand camera. All the best, Mike.

ThanksHi, WDCs sister mag (Amateur Photographer) has just awarded the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V Comsumer Compact Camera of the Year... and they should know what they are talking about considering Amateur Photographer is the world's oldest consumer weekly photographic magazine, first hitting the newsstands on October 10 1884 - yes! you read that right! 125 years ago. Watch video - look down page for Part 4 (http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/features/AP_Awards_2012_Video_features_311549.html)

Sony HX9V review Clicky (http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/sony_cybershot_dsc_hx9v_review/) Look for the Twilight feature and Super Auto. 219.95 at Jessops (http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/80208/show.html?tduid=e78ebc5c463661dac177110ee03d47b6&url=http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/80208/show.html)

Don't forget, post processing is an important part of photography and should be used to sharpen and enhance pictures taken with any camera. If you don't have an imaging editor, then use the one in my signature below. There are 32 video tutorials to get you started. The most useful is the Adjusting levels (http://ictpublish.com/pixlr/Videoes/06_Levels/06_Levels.html) and for the advanced user. The Curves tool (http://ictpublish.com/pixlr/Videoes/07_Curves/07_Curves.html) is a must (it's my favourite all-in-one adjuster). My Resize-Crop-Sharpen tutorial below, will get your pics ready for the internet

Cheers
