Decisions, Decesions... First Dslr choices!

Hello!

I am currently trying to decide on my first DSLR to buy!

After many productive hours spent reading various reviews etc I have narrowed it down to...

Nikon D3100

Pentax K-R

Sony Alpha A350

or lately I'm tempted by the Canon eos 500d as the price seems to have dropped a wee bit. I realize this is an older model which is the only thing that is holding me back.

Any camera I buy will be with the standard lens kit as I can't quite stretch to an upgrade just yet!!

Any input or advice would greatly appreciated as I would like to get this right first time around!

Hi and welcome if you are looking at the 500d then also look at the 550d price has come down too.

I've just purchased the Pentax K-r, and it's a lovely little camera for a first DSLR. My daughter has one of these too, and she loves it, and gets some really good shots with it.

I've also got a Sony, the Alpha 580, which I really love. Would have to say this is my fav.
