Hi Craig. This book seems to concentrate on the Canon Rebel DSLR, if you are a Canon user then you are bound to pick up some tips on using your camera. I haven't read it myself as I'm a Nikon user so I can't really comment on it's merits. I always find my local library useful for photography books. All the best, Mike.

Hello Craig.
I haven't read the book u mentioned yet, but i agree with graham_c about scott kelby's 3-volume books on digital photography. Additionally, i found out book titled 'understanding exposure' by Bryan Peterson is very useful for us beginners...
Best regards...
