I'm thinking of buying an ultra wide-angle lens for my Canon EOS 550D. I've read reviews from WhatDigitalCamera mags & other photoraphy webs and I've narrowed my choices to 3 items (which is within my budget): (1) Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM, (2) Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM and (3) Tokina AF 11-16 mm/f2.8 AT-X Pro DX .

Both Sigmas received high rating from WDC mags (92 & 95, respectively), however there isn't any review by WDC for the Tokina 11-16 mm yet. In some webs, it was stated that the Tokina is one of the best ultra wide-angle lenses available. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi there, may I suggest the Sigma 10-20mm, but opt for the f3.5 version which is quicker than the one you mention. I use this lens on my Nikon camera and find it brilliant. The WDC review also found it to be so and said that every photographers kit bag should have one! All the best, Mike.

Hi.
You could also look at the sigma 8-16mm wide angle or the tamron 10-24mm... graham
