buying the right camera !

hi i was hoping some one could give me a bit of advice
i have been into my local camera dealer today and asked what is the best tye of compact digital camera for me to get to use at concerts
i want to be able to take picks and videos!
he recomended i got the panasonic lumix tz10 as it has 12x op zoom i have read rewiews on a few different cameras but i am just a bit confused now

The process is quite simple really, first, how much do you want to spend?. Then look in the pages of WDC magazine at all the cameras in your price range, then check out the test reports for the camera you have in mind. Each report carries 'pros' and 'cons' to help you make the right choice. Finally after doing your research you will be able to make an informed choice and not just be swayed by someone elses opinion. Ihave always used this method, and it has never let me down. The test reports by the way, are to be found near the end pages of the magazine.
