I don't want much

I have a Canon A710 IS digital compact. It's fine for everyday stuff but its wide angle lens can be a right pain when photographing groups (big heads, small feet, you know the problem). I want a compact digital with a zoom lens but a selectable or default "normal" focal length setting.

The Canon's built-in flash can be too weak in some situations (more than about 4m). I want a compact digital with a brighter internal flash or a flash hot shoe or socket.

Oh, and I want image stabilisation.

Is there such a camera?

They do look good but I can't see if focal length is selectable, eg normal equivalent. I'll do the rounds this week.
