combined filters

I see that Hoya do a combined Circular Polarising and UV filter? Do you think this is a good idea? I don't really know enough about filters yet to know whether it's better to have 2 separate or one combined. It would certainly cut down on changing but would you want to have the CP on all the time or just for certain conditions?

A polariser will add 1 to 2 stops so cutting down the light entering the lens. To me its not a filter to keep on all the time. Some people keep a uv on all the time I prefer to put them on as i need them
