Samsung EX1 preview video review: The Samsung EX1 (TL500 as it’s known Stateside) sees the company firmly foot itself at the high-end of the compact market. Featuring a bright f/1.8 24-72mm (3x optical zoom) Schneider Kreuznach lens, it’s clear the EX1 means serious business. The EX1 features a 3in tilt-angle AMOLED screen (commonly known as OLED, or Organic LED) features, which consumes less power than an LCD equivalent, has a wider viewing angle and higher contrast ratio with brighter, punchier colours. The EX1 has fully manual controls, and is capable of Raw capture. The only notable lacking is no HD movie capability, instead a 640×480 pixel resolution that uses the highly-regarded H.264 standard features. Expected from April 2010, the Samsung EX1 otherwise looks set to be a sturdy compact in a rapidly expanding and strong Samsung lineup.
