|Cons:||Cons: For what it does, none|
Model: Gorillapod SLR
There are mini tripods and there’s the Gorillapod. Now available for SLRs, the enlarged version of the original has the same ball and socket flexible legs, allowing the unit to be wrapped around posts, tree branches or simply placed on a tabletop.
It’s lightweight, at 165g, so it won’t overburden your camera bag, and has a quick-release plate so is fast to use in the field. It’s tough too, being able to hold up to 1100g of camera and lens securely. This is an ideal gadget for placing your camera in normally inaccessible positions, and I’ll admit it’s quite addictive just trying out new places to put it.
The ever adaptable Gorillapod is now able to support a standard DSLRs.
