For when there’s not room to splay out the legs of the tripod, the five-section monopod is a stylish and solid, yet lightweight, construction with a maximum extendable height of 17.1 inches (44.5cm), down to a minimal 6.9 inches (17.5cm). A rubber cap protects the screw thread at the top. Designed to support a weight up to 1kg, we comfortably attached a Nikon D70 and lens without any stability problems.
For outdoor photographers, there is an optional bag available and the pricing can’t be argued with.
Verdict
A practical and easy to carry option that doesn't cost the earth.

The above review for the Manfrotto monopod 790B states: "a maximum extendable height of 17.1 inches (44.5cm)" This must be a mistake. I would like to know the real hight.

My Manfrotto 790B is virtually brand new without a scratch or mark on it and has hardly been used, but is now unusable because the clips securing the telescopic sections have cracked without any aparant reason.
