Immediately you get the ProLite H1900-B out of its box it says ‘professional’ to you. There are no consumer frills to the heavy-duty design. It looks like it will last forever. Who needs speakers in a pro monitor? Well, there are none, but you do get a rotating screen for portrait mode display, a four-port USB hub, no less than two DVI ports and PC software control.

Image quality in native 1280×1024 mode is very good, though for less money you can get 1600×1200 panels now. If there is a criticism, there is a natural warm bias to the display after calibration, but plenty of adjustment options are available for you to dial that out if you wish. I had no problem with Viewing Angles: and the screen is very uniform, corner to corner. Once again, why do monitor manufacturers seem to attempt to make their OSD controls on the bezel invisible – which is certainly so with the H1900-B
