Thanks for the review. I agree that the price is probably going to be the sticking point for most prospective buyers. Perhaps Pentax should have considered pitching the price against high end compact cameras instead of the larger sensor CSCs. I've read that the other lenses in the Q range are going to be more competitively priced than the initial kit offerings. If Pentax maintains this policy when producing new lenses and, if they can make a wide variety of them, some buyers might consider the initial outlay worth paying.

It's true, forthcoming 'Toy' lenses will be much cheaper. But is $300 worth paying for a 100mm lens that has a fixed aperture of f/8. i.e. you can't change the aperture whatsoever. I'm not so sure.

I was thinking more of future lenses rather than the 'Toy' lenses. I imagine that these will only be of interest to a minority of photographers. If Pentax were to produce a range of lenses with a wider appeal then the situation might be different. I suppose they'd have to do so fairly quickly though, or at least provide details asap for proposed new lenses, to encourage interest in the camera. I noticed that the 'Toy' lenses have a fixed aperture. I agree that this would be fairly useless for most photographers even if the lenses are inexpensive. I expect that this camera's success, or failure, all depends on Pentax's future plans for the Q's lens system.
