If you don't need 2.8 the f4 is a tad sharper & cheaper. Either lens you can totally rely on - built like a tank!

WHAT A LENS,I HAVE HAD THIS LENS FOR A FEW WEEKS AND TRULY AMAZING PHOTOS,GREAT FOR MOTOR RACING COS WHEN LOCKED ON IT DOESN'BUDGE,AND IT IS SO QUICK USE IT FOR BIRDS AS WELL,SO HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE AND I DON'T USE MY 70-300IS ANYMORE ON MY 7D;I KEEP THAT ON MY EOS20.GREAT LENS.
