Nikon D2Xs review
Verdict
Do the improvements offer enough to make it worth upgrading from the previous model? For the average shooter, probably not. For the specialist, there’s sure to be something of value to make life easier – for example, the GPS additions, or high-speed crop mode, may be deal breakers to you. On its own merits as a standalone camera, though, the D2Xs is a fine example of optical and digital technology combined and, as such, is highly desirable.

As this old pro begins to age, the price has fallen to the point where more and more folks can enjoy the abilities and "feel" of a camera such as this. It is a winner and provides as much as it did when first introduced.

Got one for the same price I paid for a used S2 pro a couple of years ago. This is a great camera, fast, realiable, accurate and producing excellent image quality up to ISO 640 and then manageable noise up through the rest of its range. There are more seetings than you can shake a stick at but as ever the Nikon menus and the wealth of command controls on the camera make it all a breeze. Brick like construction, legendary reliablility and great images at a price that won't break the bank. 10/10 for me.
