Great review. Thank you sir. I went with the LX3 (over a G9 or Ricoh) and I'm very happy. All the manual control I wanted, plus a nice lens. And it takes lovely photos, which is an added bonus ;)

I've had one of these for few months. It succeeded a Nikon P5100 which was good but oh so slow! I think it's a wonderful little camera, the only drawbacks being the lack of a viewfinder (the optional extra one is hugely expensive) and the failure of Apple to support its RAW files in Aperture. Otherwise, I don't regret buying it at all - I use it more than my main DSLR!

I have to agree with Andrew. I traded my 350d in to get this as i found i never used it due to its size. The LX3 however is never far away and ive used it more in a month than my SLR in a year. Fabulous quality and ill forgive it the zoom issue if it continually gives such great picture quality. Fabulous camera and unless you are a professional, it could well be all the camera you will ever need.

I bought the LX3 specifically for my holiday to Tuscany this year. This fitted perfectly with essentially the 2 types of picture that I wanted to take - beautiful landscapes and outstanding architecture. It surpassed my expecations in both situations. My pictures of Florence from Piazza Michelangelo are the best I've ever taken.
