Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28

I recently bought this camera after owning a Olympus camera and without a doubt it is a better camera all round, I am not a camera freak so some of the minor faults this camera may have I have not picked up on yet but up till now I am over the moon with its performence

I bought the FZ28 based on the reviews and I have to say I am very pleased with it, am not completely content with the above score, design wise it is excellent, yes its plastic but of very good quality. Image quality is superb, especially when you start tweaking the manual settings, mind you the IA mode and scene modes do an exceptional job too and you can save up to 4 custom settings which you can easily select with the dial. At £240 with a 2gb sd card I reckon this was a bargain so I dont agree with the score of 16, it also features HD 720p recording which is a bonus for those youtube moments, and has the capability of attaching teleconverters,macro and wideangle lenses At the moment I can't put it down, comes with me everywhere due to its size and has introduced me to macro photography with brilliant results. Really should be around the 90% mark, I know it is in my books :)

this camera is perfect i got rid of a cannon dslr eos 400d to much hassle changing lenses ,the fz28 has it all , i rate this higher than the 400d its got better picture quality best buy ive had for a camera also got rid of my fuji 6500fd ,the fz28 does it all 10/10 no regrets amazing functions for all .

I have bought one of those after years of using the FZ20 because of the higher resolution and the wider-angle lens. Overall, I am happy with its performance, but one thing totally foxes me: why is it so slow? I take many pictures of aircraft and quite often, between pressing the release and the picture being recorded, the gap is such that the aircraft has moved out of the frame, wholly or partly; most disconcerting! I may be doing something basically wrong, but if I knew what, I would not bother this forum with my stupidity! Any ideas folks? Thanks for your help. YF

The Focus quality is not good, sharp or exceptional for the price.Samsung L301 has equal photo focus results

The only negative is this camera's higher than avarage noise, clearly seen in the lowlights at even iso 100. Setting Sharpening to 0 (mid point) and noise reduction to +1 helps. Every other feature of this camera is great. Videos are impressive, although the sound is not.

bought this camera 2 years ago and am really pleased with the results. Agree with YF the focusing is a little slow. Now looking for entry dslr, any recommendations anyone

had this camara for a few years and am very pleased with it. apart from it being a bit slow and the resolution at the far end of the zoom being a bit of its a great piece of kit.
