I've had my new Canon IXUS 95 IS only a few days. I have it in my briefcase all the time and use it for building site pictures in my job as an architect. My comments so far: Pro's: 1. Fast and responsive. 2. Up to date firmware is a pleasure to use. 3. Takes pleasant everyday pictures that also look good when printed. 4. Amazingly bright flash for its size. 5. Proper large round shutter release button with a raised collar around it (compared to other cameras in this class which use very small rectangular buttons with no collars). 6. Generally well constructed with a quality feel. Con's: 1. There are only two settings for image sharpness, namely "Fine" and "Normal". On my old IXUS 400 there were more settings (four, I think). Images taken at the best setting of the new IXUS 95 are about 50-70% the size of pictures taken with the old IXUS 400, which is only a 4MP camera. This poses the question whether the IXUS 95 has been deliberately limited in it's firmware to take pictures that are not "Superfine". In other words: the camera can not be used to the full potential of its lens. 2. The on/off switch is virtually flush with the body, which makes it initially difficult to find unless you specifically look for it (not very intuitive). 3. Mode switch is made of unpainted grey plastic, which looks cheap and doesn't match the other buttons, which are painted in the silver body colour. 3. Rounded edges make camera difficult to hold firm, compared to my old IXUS 400, which was thicker and very rectangular, giving a much better grip. 4. No fun features like "Color Swap" and "Color Accent" in "My Colors", something that is again probably "switched off" to match the price level at which this camera is sold. 5. Tripod mount is made of plastic.
