I have used one of these since they were released in March. I am enjoying using it and find it ideal as a travel camera where my DSLR or even my bridge camera is too bulky. I travel a lot and a camera goes everywhere with me. I have to agree with the points made in the review, but it wouldn't stop me getting another if I had to replace it tomorrow. I do find the GPS a bit slow to lock sometimes, but never as long as 10 minutes. No more than a minute at the longest. It can be a bit quirky to get the focus lock at times and I also find the flash location a little odd. The location of the button to change the flash settings is a bit of a pain as I often activate the flash whilst spinning the wheel to manual focus. As I said earlier, a few niggles but I am pleased with my purchase. It fills a gap in my equipment. I'd give it a 8.5-9/10, higher if the niggles were sorted.

With a view finder it would be a great camera, when you are on holiday in the sunshine rear screens becomes a mirror.

I have just returned from Rome and used this camera alongside my Canon 550. I love both, the SX260 allowed me to take photos inside without flash and I have some stunning results. This camera was great for quick shots as you can carry it in your hand, is light, convenient, and easy to use. For more structured and composed shots my 550 was great. Would recommend either of these cameras.
