This compact and lightweight number is one of Lowepro’s new Flipside Series backpacks, and claims to offer adventure-bound photographers storage space combined with sleek comfort.
We tested the 200 and were impressed with its solid feel and minimal form. You can carry anything from an entry-level DSLR to a pro digital body, and the Flipside 300 can take an additional lens up to 300mm.
As well as a device to carry your gear, backpacks are there to protect it as well, and with its durable, water- and abrasion-resistant exterior, the 200 seems to tick all the boxes.
Lowepro is proud of its unique entry system on this piece of kit. It allows for easy access via an opening that is actually on the back of the bag – this is the side that will go against your own back when carrying it. This removes any possibility of thieves accessing your bag through the more conventional, and exposed, entry points of other backpacks, which are either on top or at the front of the pack.
There is also a concealed tripod holder, along with a removable accessory pouch and a number of low-profile outer storage panels to safely contain digital accessories and personal gear. There are also some Slip Lock accessory loops on the harness straps that further expand the carrying capabilities.
The bag’s rounded off nicely by the waist belt and adjustable sternum strap that offers greater comfort and stability. It is also available in three colours: black, arctic blue, and red.
Verdict:
Secure, comfortable and light - what more could you want in a bag?
Pros:
Added security, lightweight, and comfortable to wear
Cons:
It could benefit from a mobile phone pocket on a strap
What Digital Camera Score: 90%

Hm. The 200 I bought wouldn't close on my D3 body and lens. Their claimed extra capacity for 1-3 lenses or flash units is laughable. Lowepro US flatly refused to connect me to or give me the email of anyone in customer support. They make claims of wonderful products and support but I can't find any evidence of either.
