Our World Now 3 draws upon Reuters' unparalleled resource to document a year in the life of our vibrant, troubled, beautiful planet
Title: Our World Now 3
Review: One of the main criticisms that can be raised at press photography is that it's normally fairly heavy going. Unfortunately, the death and suffering of people around the world is more likely to make headlines than their happiness, and as such countless photographers are posted to regions of conflict to document occurrences.
However, it's not all doom and gloom and, thankfully, Reuters manages to find a different take on the year that was in Our World Now. Split in to four sections - one for each quarter of the year - the title takes a sideways look at 2009. While it's fair to say that Our World Now has the obligatory quota of the morbid, just enough to remind us that we do indeed live in troubled times, it's content is by no means fascinated with it - for example, candid shots of world leaders accompany graphic rioting images to showcase the collapse of the global economy.
Our World Now maintains the high standard set by previous Reuters titles in the series, an is refreshing in its documentation on contemporary issues. What Digital Camera Score: 90%
