Review of the Sanyo Xacti C5

Sanyo Xacti C5

Is it a video camera? Is it a still camera? Sold exclusively at Dixons at £499 including a 1Gb SD card, the Xacti with its awkwardly placed On/off button (you flick up the LCD to press it) is a one-handed video/still camera. On the video side it records 30fps 640x480 pixels MPEG-4 movies at the press of the movie record button. Press the still record button instead and you have a 5MP digital camera. In addition to these shooting modes there are six scene modes for still image shooting, an image stabilising system and a 1cm minimum shooting distance in macro mode.
