With many free programs available for the creation of slideshows, you may wonder why anyone would pay for one. ProShow Gold, it seems, provides the answer, combining a fuss-free interface and a range of graphics with some pretty powerful features. Not only does it boast more than 280 transition effects to have fun and experiment with but outputting your creation – be it to DVD, HD video or even directly to YouTube – couldn’t be simpler. Of course, the standard captions and accompanying music options we’d expect are offered too, but a few minutes with the software will no doubt whet your appetite for more. Put simply, we haven’t come across a more competent slideshow package, and, more importantly, enjoyed the process so much.
