Lexmark easily rates as the most improved photo printer manufacturer over the past couple of years and the P915 is evidence of this. Though lightly constructed, it looks like a good-quality product and print quality is not bad, much improved on previous Lexmarks. There’s a 2.5in LCD monitor screen, through which you can select and make simple edits to photos on memory cards. A thumbnail viewer is absent, making ploughing through numerous images a chore. Print quality is not bad, with good, bright and mainly accurate colours, though grey tones had a touch of green about them. At just under 8 minutes, using best quality photo settings, our A4 borderless test print wasn’t quite the slowest, but the wait remains too long. Lexmark’s novel blend of pigment and dye-based inks for photo printing ensures good print life, but beware of photo prints that take a long time to dry.
