Review of the Kodak EasyShare Z612

Kodak EasyShare Z612

Kodak EasyShare Z612
The latest addition to Kodak’s Z-series claims to help everyday picture-takers get “closer, better and more creative shots”. Following up the likes of the Z650 reviewed last issue; the camera offers an extended zoom and manual exposure controls, all cast in the familiar EasyShare mould. The 6 megapixel Z612 offers a 12x optical zoom, provided courtesy of a 35–420mm equivalent Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon lens. Kodak’s own image stabilization technology is on hand to reign in blurring, while a live histogram feature can be viewed on the camera’s 2.5” LCD. For extended creative control Kodak has also infused the Z612 with aperture and shutter priority modes, full manual exposure controls, and 16 scene and five colour modes. In addition to the virtual tour and sample images you can view a test clip of the movie mode by visiting the equipment gallery
