Review of the Kodak EasyShare V803

Kodak EasyShare V803

Kodak EasyShare V803
www.kodak.com RRP: £150 The V803 is the latest in the Kodak EasyShare series, offering a style and functionality for those people not willing to break the bank. As the V803 boasts an 8MP sensor capable of producing images up to 3273x 2457 pixels, alongside a 36-108mm focal length equivalent lens, Kodak has made sure you get a solid specification for your money. The maximum ISO 1600 is generous, as are the 23 scene modes which handle image capture in a broad range of situations at a touch of a button. For the more fashion-conscious, the V803 is available in a range of eight colours, from ‘Mystic Purple’ to ‘Pink Bliss’. Weighing in at 142g, the V803 is by no means a small compact. The buttons are set into its brushed steel fascia and the overall feel of the camera is weighty and metallic. The 2.5in LCD monitor is clear, yet has a tendency to streak when composing images in difficult lighting conditions. Image capture is relatively quick, with about two seconds between shots, and a ‘burst’ option available to capture up to four shots in quick succession. The AF system demonstrates a good ability to find focus in both light and dark situations, and reviewing images is almost instant. VERDICT This is an accessible camera that provides easy access to advanced features at an entry-level price. What Digital Camera Score 82%
