Review of the Fuji Finepix Z10fd

Fuji Finepix Z10fd

When you’re spending less than £150 on a compact, style usually goes out the window, but the Z10 is gorgeous. Available in seven colours with chrome accents, this all-metal beauty looks more expensive than it is.
Inside, it’s loaded with some of the latest technologies too. Face detection? Check. Anti-blur? Check (well, sort of). High ISO:? You bet. Funky sound effect at switch on? But of course! The control layout is minimalist and unconventional, with just three buttons and two multi-function rings on the whole camera. The dual-ring system is easy to figure out, and the rings are quite narrow which makes them fiddly to operate. In use the camera is brisk enough but the face detection doesn’t always find its target and, while flash exposures are good, the anti-blur simply raises the ISO:, which makes for noisier pictures in low light.

Our Verdict
Well specified for its price; images are punchy on a nice day, but average when it’s gloomy.
