Samsung NV20 Review

Manufacturer:

Price as reviewed:

£200.00

The 12MP mark is one that has been achieved by most manufacturers, and the NV20 sees Samsung take its place in the club. But the Samsung NV20 is more than just the size of its sensor. A 3x optical Schneider-Kreuznach lens is present, alongside face recognition, a 2.5in LCD screen and Advanced Shake Reduction technology.

The design of the Samsung NV20 incorporates a ‘Smart Touch’ user interface, consisting of horizontal and vertical touch-sensitive controls, and maintains the eye-catchingly sleek blue and black styling of the NV series. The Smart Touch interface is difficult to comprehend at first, but does cut camera operation time. Tardy focusing and slow shooting speeds mean the Samsung NV20 is no record-setter.

The camera does produce excellent exposures even in areas of contrast, and restricts noise and fringing admirably.

Verdict

A well-designed compact that is tardy in use yet produces good images.
