Barbara Newman has been Country Life’s dance critic since 1990. In her latest book, Never Far from Dancing (Routledge, 2014), she talks to renowned dancers about their professional progress. Her bestselling children’s book, The Illustrated Book of Ballet Stories (Dorling Kindersley, 1997), is a triple award winner that has been translated into eight languages.
